I was looking at how little we actually spent on our last Dorset trip and I realised that this county is a budget holidaymaker’s dream destination. As with all holidays, transport, accomodation and food are the three biggest expenses.
The trick with transport is to choose a location that has everything you want on the doorstep, so once you are there, there is no need to shell out any further cash to get to where you want to go. So, if you are like me, and want a bit of everything, then seaside towns are brilliant. Lyme Regis is an absolute gem.
Accomodation drops dramatically in price out of season. A week self catering in March or April is almost cheaper than staying at home.
